Senior Internship at Mercury Plastics LLC
Checking a sample part.
My first individual project was to record measurements for all pallet racks in Plant One. After recording the information, I had to find the capacity limits for each shelf. Once that was completed, labels were ordered and made, and I was helped on the scissorlift, going around to every rack and labling.
Thirty-one feet in the air over the warehouse.

My senior year, I was lucky enough to land an engineering internship at Mercury Plastics LLC in Middlefield, Ohio. I work under the engineering and maintenance departments as well as plastic extrusions. Some of my responsibilities include parts testing, quality checking, coiling, data recording, safety procedures, and safety procedure maintenance.
I get to learn on the job and acquire industry skills I can carry with me throughout my career, as well as work on my professional social skills. The most important thing I’ve learned from this experience is that the engineering field is where I want to be for sure. Posting capacity labels on pallet racks.
